Autumn Rain

“Autumn Rain” is an example of a painting that embodies my work.  It is simply a scene I find beautiful and leaves me with a desire to paint it.

In my mind, a rainy day in a swamp is just as lovely as the Grand Canyon – admittedly not as spectacular – but the scene has a beauty all of its own.  Great Blue Herons are often seen, and occasionally nest, here. Seeing one in the fall is a reminder that it will soon be heading south as the water turns to ice.  For me, finding beauty in everyday scenes such as these wetlands is what feeds my art.
